- Counting staff
- A plan for movements during counting
Complete the workflow
- 1
Create the stocktake
Choose the location and scope. The system records the expected snapshot used for variance comparison.
- 2
Count physical stock
Enter observed quantities without adjusting expected values. Use recounts for material differences.
- 3
Review variances
Investigate timing, unit-of-measure, receiving, transfer and sales causes before approval.
- 4
Post the result
Posting creates immutable stock-ledger movements and the corresponding inventory gain or loss journal.
Useful tips
- Pause uncontrolled stock movements while a location is being counted.
- Use a second counter for high-value or high-variance products.
Troubleshooting
Expected stock changed during counting
Review movements posted after the snapshot and recount affected products before posting.
