Enroll a POS terminal and use quick login

Bind a checkout browser to one branch, let each employee set a private passcode, and lock the terminal between users.

Where this lives

Permissions needed

  • Settings · Devices

Any one of these grants access. Ask an administrator if the screen is not visible to you.

Before you start

  • A password-authenticated administrator session
  • An active branch assignment for each terminal user

Complete the workflow

  1. 1

    Set your own passcode

Each user signs in with their account password and creates their own six-digit POS passcode. Administrators cannot read or choose another employee's code.

  2. 2

    Enroll the checkout browser

Open the device settings in the branch where the checkout operates, name the terminal, and confirm enrollment with your account password.

  3. 3

    Lock between users

Choose Lock terminal from the account menu instead of leaving an active cashier session unattended. The terminal keeps its enrollment but clears the user's session.

  4. 4

    Use quick login

Select the employee and enter the six-digit code. The resulting session keeps the employee's operational permissions but excludes sensitive setup, finance, force-close and approval authority.

  5. 5

    Revoke lost or replaced devices

Revoke the terminal from its branch settings and confirm with your password. Existing quick-login sessions issued by that device are rejected immediately.

Useful tips

  • Give every physical checkout a distinct name.
  • Use Sign out when leaving the device permanently and Lock terminal when handing it to the next employee.
  • A passcode never works from a browser that has not been enrolled.

Troubleshooting

A user is missing from the terminal

Have that user set their own passcode and confirm that their membership can access the terminal's branch.

The terminal says it is not enrolled

The protected device cookie may have been cleared or the terminal may have been revoked. Sign in with a password and enroll it again.

Sensitive menus are missing after quick login

This is intentional. Sign out and use email and password to perform password-only administration or approval work.
