Permissions needed

Any one of these grants access. Ask an administrator if the screen is not visible to you.

Before you start

  • The Public storefront platform feature
  • An active inventory location
  • At least one product ready to publish

The first three failures are indistinguishable from outside: the public endpoint filters on all three at once and returns the same 404 as an address that was never a shop. The fourth is the one that looks like a bug — the catalogue works, prices and stock are right, and only the checkout is absent. Order intake also asks for more than the storefront itself does: the shop needs a location that is merely active, while accepting orders needs that location to belong to an active branch, so a location with no branch runs a shop and refuses to sell from it.

Complete the workflow

  1. 1

    Choose the shop address

Enter a unique lowercase slug. This becomes the stable customer-facing URL, so avoid changing it after sharing the shop.

  2. 2

    Set the stock source

Choose the inventory location used for public availability. Reservations and the configured safety stock are deducted before availability is shown.

  3. 3

    Configure fulfilment

Enable pickup, delivery, or both. Exact stock quantities can remain hidden while still showing useful availability states.

  4. 4

    Configure order intake

Enable online order requests and choose how long an unaccepted request remains open. Requests do not reserve stock until a staff member accepts them.

  5. 5

    Choose post-confirmation payment

Choose pay on fulfilment, full prepayment, or a fixed/percentage deposit. For online payment, set a payment window; unpaid stock reservations expire at that deadline.

  6. 6

    Prepare the catalogue

Open Online Catalogue, tailor product copy, upload clean product images, and publish only customer-ready items.

  7. 7

    Publish and verify

Enable the storefront, open its public URL in a signed-out browser, and verify products, prices, availability and contact information.

Useful tips

  • Keep a safety buffer for stock also sold at physical tills.
  • Product prices, taxes and stock remain controlled by inventory rather than duplicated in the storefront.

Troubleshooting

The public storefront switch is disabled
